The River Thames Scheme Supplementary Consultation comes to a close
Thank you to all of you that attended one of our supplementary consultation in-person or virtual events and also to the hundreds of you who took the time to provide your feedback and views by completing the online feedback form, posting a paper feedback form or sending us an email.
The River Thames Scheme (RTS) supplementary consultation ran for five weeks, from 3 September 2024 to 7 October 2024. During this time, the RTS were out consulting with the public on the preferred option, Option 1 for Ferris Meadow Lake.
Many quality and detailed conversations were had at our consultation events. Thank you to all who took the time to attend.
During the consultation period, we held three in-person consultation events and two virtual events. We also offered a pre-recorded option of our virtual presentation for those unable to attend any of the live events.
The RTS teams spoke to 168 people, with our specialist and technical experts on hand to answer any questions raised by the public.
All the feedback we received, is now being carefully reviewed by the landscape architects, civil engineers, environmental scientists, water modelling experts and others working on the River Thames Scheme.
All feedback will be included in a consultation report. This report will also include information on how we have considered feedback and how this has informed any changes to our proposals or refinements on this element of the scheme.
The report will be submitted as part of our Development Consent Order (DCO) application to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs via the Planning Inspectorate ('PINS') and will be available to the public following submission of the application. We will be submitting our DCO application in 2025.
