River Thames Scheme shortlisted for prestigious climate resilient infrastructure award
The River Thames Scheme (RTS) has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Climate Resilient Blue & Green Infrastructure award at the Flood and Coast Excellence Awards 2024.
Organised as part of the Flood and Coast Conference and Exhibition, the awards recognise outstanding contributions to managing flood and coastal risk, fostering local flood resilience and championing climate change action.
This nomination highlights the RTS' goals of combining nature-based solutions and cutting-edge engineering techniques to help protect communities, infrastructure and ecosystems from the challenges posed by climate change.
"We are honoured to be shortlisted for the Climate Resilient Blue & Green Infrastructure award," said RTS Project Director Jeanne Capey. "This recognition is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in the project. Together, we are working towards a more resilient and sustainable future for the communities within the RTS area and beyond."
The Flood and Coast Excellence Awards showcase innovative projects that advance flood and coastal risk management while aligning with broader climate adaptation goals. The winners will be announced during the Flood and Coast Conference and Exhibition, scheduled to take place at the Telford International Centre from 4-6 June.
